Hello. My name is Sarah Cawley and I teach people how to make music!
I teach singing, piano and accordion to all ages and abilities.
My students are those in bands, recording artists, persons interested in starting or joining bands and those that want to sound great around the campfire. My vocal students learn how to embellish the things they like about their voices and make them sound unique, while at the same time defeating tension and poor vocal technique. My instrumental students learn both how to control the keyboard, but also the theory needed to understand the instrument. I also work on creating a whole performer, from stage presence to microphone technique.
I offer regular performance classes at which students perform for one another to gain experience in performance, active listening, and constructive musical criticism in a safe and fun space. Studio class is also a great opportunity to meet others interested in furthering their musical abilities
I have a Bachelors of Music, Vocal Performance at the University of Oregon and have been teaching since 2002. I have performed with The U of O Opera Ensemble, Eugene Symphony Chorus, The Oregon Bach Festival Chorus, The Dahoo Chorus, Emily Post and Opera Theater Oregon. I have featured with The Salon ensemble, Trashcan Joe, The March Fourth Marching Band, Sophe Lux, and The String Cheese Incident
